"What are we doing in the computer lab today?" Answer: Today you will create and print a full page document with typed text in interesting fonts of various sizes. Note: ***Please do not print until you have filled at least one page of a Word Document. *** STEP #1: Take out the last 3 writing assignments we have completed as classwork or homework: STEP #2: Open up a blank Microsoft Word Document. STEP #3: Look for phrases, words, or sentences that you like from your writing assignments. Type them into the Word Document. Fill the page. STEP #4: Highlight text and change it's SIZE and FONT. Experiment with various sizes. EMPHASIZE the most important words you have written with LARGER and BOLDER fonts. Bring less attention to other words you have written by shrinking the font and making it SMALLER and less noticeable. You can use as many fonts as you would like. "What will I do with all of these words I have printed out?" Answer: You will have several choices when we get back to the room to work on our backgrounds. You can collage some of your text behind your self-portrait. You can transfer the text, or maybe even "scratch" the text into the negative space! See some of Mrs. Nadig's examples below: #1 You can TRANSFER your text! #2 You can SCRATCH your text! (using oil pastels and ink, and a paperclip!) #3 You can COLLAGE your text! (And add a "wash" of watery paint over the text.) That's the end of the computer lab assignment! print a lot of words to work with tomorrow in the classroom!Continuous contour drawing http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B6GrTasVbaU&feature=share&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DB6GrTasVbaU%26feature%3Dshare Blind contour drawing http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KoGAXg6m4Gc&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DKoGAXg6m4Gc
